frequently asked questions

sending or receiving SMS

I'm not receiving any SMS

  1. First check that you are receiving SMS sent from mobile phone to mobile phone
  2. Then check that you are not currently in one of the time periods for which you asked not to receive notifications.
During these periods, updates and messages are not sent to your mobile phone by SMS and are also not re-sent after the period has ended.
  3. Check in the 'dashboard' section that you haven't reached either your general weekly SMS limit or your weekly SMS limit for the notification in question.
  4. Finally, check in the 'dashboard' section that your notifications are set to 'ON', then go to the 'options' menu and check that your settings are not filtering out SMS (e.g. Facebook friend not selected or maximum number of SMS reached).

How do I know if a reply or a command sent by SMS has actually been posted?

You should receive an SMS notification. If you don't, this means your SMS has not been posted. Please try again.

I am a PrePay customer: will I still receive notifications even if I don't have any credit?

authentication

What does Orange do with my login details?

We only use your login details to establish a connection between your web services and the SMS platform.

With Facebook, your login details are not stored by Orange but simply sent to Facebook to activate notifications.
Facebook then creates a security key that we use to communicate with them.

stopping notifications or a service

How can I stop SMS notifications when I don't have access to a PC?

Just send an SMS with the keyword 'mute' to 5010 to stop receiving all SMS notifications.

To start receiving notifications again, send an SMS with the keyword 'unmute' to 5010.
You can also choose to stop only selected services by adding 'FB' for Facebook, 'TW' for Twitter or 'GM' for Gmail after the word 'mute' in the text of your SMS.
For example, send an SMS with the text 'mute FB' to 5010 to stop Facebook only.

How can I permanently delete my Orange Link account?
